He noted that approximately half of their guests have either experienced or intend to embark on a river cruise, making this a natural extension of Celebrity’s premium offerings.
Laura Hodges Bethge, president of Celebrity Cruises, highlighted that the new river cruise line will combine the brand’s best-in-class hospitality, award-winning culinary experiences, and elevated design with authentic, destination-rich itineraries. Guests can look forward to 360-degree breathtaking views and immersive journeys through culturally and historically significant cities, complemented by locally inspired cuisine and unique shore excursions.
This expansion into river cruising comes as Royal Caribbean Group anticipates a prosperous year in 2025, forecasting an approximate 23% increase in adjusted earnings. The optimism is fueled by high bookings at record prices and the sustained demand for sea-based vacations.
