🏨 Where to Stay in Seattle (Cruise-Friendly Hotels)
When you only have one day, your hotel location matters a lot.
What we prioritized:
- ✔️ Clean & safe
- ✔️ Walkable to attractions
- ✔️ Close to cruise port
- ✔️ Free breakfast (huge time & money saver)
Where we stayed:
- Fairfield Inn & Suites Seattle Downtown/Seattle Center
- Comfortable, reliable, and walking distance to the Space Needle
Other great options nearby:
- Hyatt Place Seattle Downtown
- Hampton Inn & Suites Seattle-Downtown
- Mediterranean Inn
👉 Staying near the Space Needle makes this itinerary MUCH easier.
🗺️ Our Exact One-Day Seattle Itinerary
☀️ Morning: Space Needle + Museum
1. Space Needle (9:15 AM reservation)
- Go early = fewer crowds
- Plan: 1–2 hours
💡 Pro tip: Late in the day, elevator lines down can get long.
2. Museum of Pop Culture
- 3 floors of music, film, and pop culture
- Interactive exhibits (great for families)
👉 This was one of our favorite stops — especially if you love music or movies.
🚝 Midday: Pike Place Market Area
Getting there:
- Took the Seattle Center Monorail
- Quick, easy, and a fun ride
3. Pike Place Market
What we did:
- Lunch at a local grill
- Explored shops
- Saw the original Starbucks
- Watched street performers
And yes… we visited the infamous 👇
- Gum Wall
🐠 Afternoon: Aquarium Stop
4. Seattle Aquarium (3:30 PM reservation)
- About 1 hour visit
- Smaller, but still enjoyable
👉 Quick, easy stop before heading back to reset for the evening.
🌆 Evening: Glass Art + Sunset Finale
5. Chihuly Garden and Glass (6:45 PM)
- Stunning glass art exhibits
- Live glass-blowing demonstration
🌅 BONUS: Return to the Space Needle at Night
Your ticket allows a second visit!
- Perfect for sunset views over Seattle
- A completely different experience from the morning
👉 This was hands down the best way to end the day
💰 How We Saved Money (And Exactly What We Spent)
🎟️ Our Secret Weapon: CityPASS
We used CityPASS – the calculations are based on all prices we paid in 2023.
What we paid:
- $119 per adult in 2023 (currently $139 per adult in 2026)
What attractions would have cost separately:
- ~$164 per person
💸 Savings:
- $45 per person
- Family of 4 = $180 saved
👉 That’s real money back in your pocket for your cruise.
💡 Why CityPASS Works So Well
- Bundles top attractions
- Lets you choose what you want to see
- Perfect for short stays like this
⏱️ Can You Really Do Seattle in One Day?
Yes — if you plan it right.
What made this work:
- ✔️ Early reservations
- ✔️ Walkable hotel location
- ✔️ Grouping attractions by area
- ✔️ Built-in flexibility
👉 But the real timing strategy is easier to understand when you watch the video.
