Five nights at the beautiful and all inclusive Iberostar Paraiso Maya resort in Riviera Maya, Mexico was a really nice vacation for the whole family. The Maya resort is the “Suite” complex of Iberostar which connects 5 resorts into each other. When you stay in the Maya, you are allowed access to all of the remaining resorts on the property except for the adult only, Iberostar Grand.

The grounds are very pretty and I found it to be clean. The resort has a lazy river, a wave pool, a kiddie pool and 2 other pools where you can take a dip or play some water games next to the swim-up bar. There are activities throughout each day for those who want a lot or a little extra fun. My tip for you when using the pools is to bring your own water tube from home. They sell water tubes and rafts but at a hefty price. They offer a kids club who has activities to keep the little ones busy all day.

The beach is pretty, but if you consider the beach an important part of your stay, you may be a bit disappointed. And if you plan on going to the beach, plan to arrive early to get a chair. They have a outdoor BBQ and bar by the beach so you can stay close to the beach when you want to pick something up to eat.

Try to make reservations either before or once you get to the resort for their restaurants. We ate at the Mediteranean, the Hibachi restaurant and a Steak House. All were very good and offered something for everyone’s tastes. They also have buffet dinner option at two different sections of the resort. I found that the restaurant closer to the lobby to offer more higher quality food selections for both dinner and lunch. After dinner, we enjoyed nightly entertainment at the Lindo resort, adjacent to the Maya. Each night was a new theme that was fun for the whole family. Afterwards if you are still in the mood to party, they have a disco for dancing.

All in all a wonderful place for families! It is also an ideal resort for destination weddings. The resort is versatile to fit all of yours or your guests desires.
