Exciting news for cruise lovers and Jimmy Buffett fans! Margaritaville at Sea just announced the newest chapter in its fleet expansion: the acquisition of Costa Fortuna, a beloved ship currently sailing under Costa Cruises (A Carnival Company). This announcement comes as the cruise line celebrates its third anniversary, and the buzz is real—this move marks Margaritaville at Sea’s biggest ship yet, set to welcome guests in 2026.
🎉 Margaritaville at Sea Is Growing—And So Is the Fun
The Costa Fortuna will undergo a complete transformation to align with the island-inspired escape that Margaritaville at Sea is known for. This 102,500-gross-ton vessel will be the largest ship in the fleet, boasting:
- Over 1,340 staterooms
- 13 passenger decks
- Expansive outdoor decks for sun and fun
- A stunning 8-story center atrium
- Room for approximately 3,450 passengers
Cruisers can expect signature Margaritaville-at-Sea features like tropical décor, award-winning dining and drinks, upbeat entertainment, and the brand’s laid-back “no worries” vibe.
🚢 A Look Back: From Paradise to Islander to Fortuna
Margaritaville at Sea launched in May 2022 with the Margaritaville at Sea Paradise, quickly becoming a fan-favorite for quick, fun-filled getaways. In 2024, they expanded with the Margaritaville at Sea Islander, elevating the cruise line’s offerings with more space, more entertainment, and even more Caribbean-inspired ambiance.
Now, with the addition of the Costa Fortuna, the brand is continuing its mission to bring more escapism, sunshine, and hospitality to cruisers across the world. The new ship will debut with a fresh reimagining that captures the essence of Margaritaville—a true floating island paradise.
CEO Christopher Ivy said it best: “We’re proud to once again invite guests to step into the Margaritaville state of mind on the open ocean.” With another ship and a new homeport set for 2026, even more guests will get to experience this tropical cruise sensation.
🌴 What’s Next for Cruisers?
The Costa Fortuna will continue sailing under Costa Cruises until late 2025. After that, expect a full rebranding and renovation to bring Margaritaville’s famous flair onboard. Stay tuned for announcements on itineraries, departure ports, and exclusive onboard experiences.
